WICHITA,Kan. (AP) — A 59-year-old woman who was found unresponsive during Friday’s fire at the Broadmoor at Chelsea apartments in north Wichita has died, said Wichita Fire Department Battalion Chief Jose Ocadiz.

Ocadiz said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it appears to be accidental, the Wichita Eagle reported.

All 12 units of building are currently unlivable. The property manager is helping to place residents in other apartments in the complex, he said.

Firefighters found the middle four apartments of the two-story building engulfed in flames, he said.

The damage is estimated at $250,000 to the building and $100,000 to its contents.
